An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure...
And can save your dog's life!
PLEASE READ
Years of installations and thousands of customers have shown that fence problems are rare and there are a very limited number of service-related issues that occur.
The majority of service and performance related problems can be prevented by responsible and attentive ownership of the containment system.
This means consistency in these things:
- The e-collar is on the dog.
(a myth exists that it can be removed once the dog is trained)
- The e-collar fits properly insuring good contact.
(collars can loosen over time; often intentionally-sometimes accidentally)
- The e-collar has fresh batteries.
(High quality e-collars have an indicator light that shows when batteries should be replaced. A common error is to not check or to become complacent about maintaining fresh batteries.)
- The System Transmitter is plugged in and powered.
(Often someone will unplug the system to use the outlet and simply forget to plug it back in.)
- The loop wire is active and uncut.
(All systems have an alarm that will sound if the loop wire is cut)
Consistency in these simple things is exactly like keeping the gate closed in a conventional fence...
